The exquisite and the everyday are complementary concepts. Through the pens of professional experts, the exquisiteness of works selected from the Mascort collection converses with a group of sixty pieces that have been studied by the Associació per a l’Estudi del Moble (Association for Furniture Studies) over its first ten years of existence. Works which are both exquisite and everyday.

Under the direction, Àngels Creus, experts in different fields such as Ferran Adrià, María Paz Aguiló or Casto Castellanos imagine a connection, for instance, between a casket made of rock crystal, gilded silver and enamel and a number of Japanese, Italian and French lacquered boxes that have been studied by the Association.

This is a book with sixty pieces studied, catalogued and documented, the outcome of the Association’s commitment to studying, highlighting and safeguarding the furniture heritage and creating links of understanding between the many professionals in the sector. This collaboration between the Mascort Foundation and the Association is a fine example of the harmony and respect between two entities with common goals.
