This catalogue brings together the content of the exhibition dedicated to Joan Pericot Garcia (Girona, 1907–1987), a multifaceted figure in 20th-century Catalan culture. Painter, decorator, designer, poet, writer and cultural activist, Pericot developed a rich and diverse body of work, strongly rooted in the Empordà region, particularly in the towns of Torroella de Montgrí and Calella de Palafrugell, two of his most vital and constant sources of inspiration.
The catalogue presents a representative selection of his pictorial work and architectural projects, through which one can trace his sensitive and profound view of the Empordà landscape. Pericot not only depicted it, but also reinterpreted it with a personal and poetic vision, using a wide range of techniques—from oil on canvas to watercolours and flowmaster markers—achieving an expressive and modern synthesis of the forms and atmosphere of his surroundings.
